Obituary of Elmer Roy Simmons
Elmer Roy Simmons passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at the South Shore Villa in Crapaud, PEI with family by his side.
Born October 12, 1935 to Roy and Blanche Simmons (Crozier) Wilmot, PEI. Survived by sister Clara Marret of Guelph ON (late John) and brother Robert Douglas Simmons of Fredericton NB (late Anna Rae). Predeceased by his parents and sister Jean Simmons (late Wallace).
Married to Jennie Milligan, the love of his life since June 29, 1957, Elmer is survived by his wife, and three children Tammy Waugh & Frank Yakimchuk of Red Deer AB, Kevin & Cindy (Mugridge) of Wilmot Valley, and Charles & Natalie (Ramsay) of New Annan. Proud grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home in Summerside. No visiting hours or funeral service by personal request. There will be a private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, kindly request donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
