Obituary of Wilfred John Clements
The death occurred peacefully at the Saint John Reginal Hospital, Saint John, NB. on Tuesday May 28th, 2024 of Wilfred “John” Clements of Ridgewood Veterans Home Saint John, aged 70 years. John was born in Summerside to the late Emile and Olive (Blacquiere) Clements.
Beloved husband of Donna (Lawless) Clements and loving father of Debra Clements (Tom), Tracy (Stuart) Dugay, stepfather of Dave Grady (Tara Moran). Also lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren.
Survived by his brothers Richard (Anne Arsenault) and Paul, his sisters Anne (Brian) DesRoches, Vicki (Eldon) Arsenault, Olive (Nazaire) Richard and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents and sister Brenda Clements.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday June 3rd, where visiting hours will be held from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. followed by the interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations in John’s memory can be made directly to Diabetes Association https://www.diabetes.ca/

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
