Obituary of Betty McKenna
On June 6th, 2024 at her home in Tryon, PE, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family Betty Lena McKenna aged 75 was called to her heavenly home. Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Wayne McKenna, her children Lori, Terri (Robert MacKenzie), Wayne (Tracy), Jamie, Barb (Allen)Toole.
Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren whom she was so proud of Josh & Paul MacKenzie, Mark Weir, Hayley Toole, Tanner & Jackson McKenna, Hannah, Hayden & Evan McKenna, and her great grandchildren whom she was also so proud of Shelbie, Memphis, Sierra, Logan, Thea, Jensen, Rylie, Ryker & Deklyn.
She is also survived by her sisters Christina MacKenzie and Sadie (Carter) Walsh and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Sadie MacKenzie, brothers John, George & Danny, sisters Minerva Ferguson, Betty (in infancy) and numerous in-laws.
Betty will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, a strong work ethic, endurance and determination. Through her strength of will, she never let anything slow her down. Even on her most painful days she persevered. She always said,” I can do it myself, I have to keep moving or I won’t be able to.”
She was the toughest woman around, and we all knew it!
Mom is pain free and at peace now.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
