Obituary of Leonard McLellan
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor on July 30,2024 of James “Leonard” McLellan. Born in Bedeque, PE to his late parents Edward & Edith (nee Sharkey) McLellan on May 20, 1943.
Beloved partner of Hazel Strang, and her children Irene (Garth) Jenkins, and Jesse Strang.
Survived by his brother Austin (Melvina) McLellan, sisters-in-law Opal and Judy McLellan, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Charlie, Westley, Stuart, and sister Mary Rogers.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside until Friday August 2nd, 2024 where a burial service will be held at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery Seven Mile Bay at 1:00 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
