Obituary of Agnes Eaglesham Mugridge
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on August 9th, 2024, of Agnes Eaglesham Mugridge, of Summerside, aged 96 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing her grandchildren Samantha, Vance and Jonathan, her great-grandchildren Spencer, Alysha, and Jordan. Also survived by her dear sister Rose McFarlane in Glasgow, Scotland, her sister-in-law Frances Young, daughter-in-law Liz DesRoches and many nieces and nephews here on PEI and in Scotland, also the Clow and Gallant family’s.
Agnes (Young) Mugridge was predeceased by her husband Vance and her only son John, her sisters Helen Rinn and Nan O’Neil, and her brothers Vance and Charlie Young.
Agnes worked for many years for Gaudet’s Save Easy where she made many life long friends. She was called Scottie because she never lost her accent when she came to Canada as a war bride. She married her husband Vance in Glasgow.
Retiring from there she continued her working career house keeping for several doctors in Summerside and one special hair dresser.
Then the joy of her life came along when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along and she got to care for them as they were growing up.
We want to thank PCH for the wonderful care they gave Agnes over the past 8 months that she was there and Parkhill her last residence.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside. There will be no visitation or funeral service by personal request. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
