Obituary of Bessie Iva Gallant
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Wednesday September 18, 2024, of Bessie Iva Gallant (Bridges) of Summerside and formerly of Saint John, NB aged 89 years. Bessie was born in McNeills Mills, PE to her late parents Walter and Pearl Bridges.
Beloved mother of Ronnie Wadman, Carl Wadman, NB, Debbie Wadman, NS, Rick (Simone)Wadman, ON, Clifford Wadman, NB, Kevin Wadman, ON, Darlene (Randy) Wadman,PE.
Also lovingly remembered numerous grandchildren; Harry (Rich) Floyd, James (Cindy) Brown, Crissy Wadman, Jeff (Ashley) Wadman, Carly Wadman, Carl Wadman, Michael (Erika) Rennick, Betty-Jo (Greg) Edwards, Natasha (Phil) Bonneau, Tabatha (Jonathan) Dowler, Rickey( Amanda) Wadman, Joshua( Heather) Wadman, Jolene Wadman, David( Melody) Beyea, Courtney (David) Sobey, James (Katy) Doucette. As well as, several great and great great grandchildren.

Predeceased by son Ronnie Wadman, grandchildren, Fabian Brown, Kevin Totten, Catrina Doucette, great grandson, Baby Michael Rennick, great great grandson, Lincoln Edwards, brothers - Al, Edward, Sterling, Alfred, Henry (Bridges), sisters – Violet Phillips, Joyce Coughlin, and Barb Rennick.
Bessie’s wishes were to be sent to the Dalhousie Medical School. In lieu of flowers donations in Bessie's memory to Dalhousie Medical School would be greatly appreciated.
By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
