Obituary of Paul Joseph Wedge
The death occurred peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 of Paul Joseph Wedge. Although the death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Paul (sometimes known as Joe) was a life-long resident of Summerside. He was born on August 11, 1966.
Paul is survived by his children Jessica Simpson and Andrew Wedge. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Phyllis Wedge, and his siblings Mary (Mike) Hennessey, Cindy (Richard Kenny), Kenton (Sheila Whiteway), Alex (Julie); and George (Shelly). He was predeceased by his father, Jack Wedge, his brother John, and his sister Jane.
Cremation has occurred. There will be no visitation or service by personal request. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, September 26th at East Prince Funeral Home from 1:00-2:30pm. Words of remembrance will be spoken at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to Peers Alliance. Paul was always very grateful for the work done by this organization to aid people who were experiencing various challenges.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
