Obituary of Betsy Keough
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Prince County Hospital on Monday September 23rd, 2024 of Elizabeth “Betsy” Keough (nee DesRoches) of Kensington and formerly of Wilmot Valley aged 82 years. Betsy was born in Summerside to the late Leonard and Mary-Ann (nee Peters) DesRoches.
Beloved wife of Bobby Keough, and loving mother of Donna (John) Caissie, Janet Bridges (Kevin Dunphy), and Lisa Keough (Darrell Thibeau). Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Shawn (Stacy), Tyler (Candace), Jalisa (Jon), Nakeisha (Codie), Hailey (Kent), Brandon, Maddy (Allan). Great grandmother known as GG was loved by JJ, Harper, Dax, Nora, Sutter, Hank, and a new little girl on the way.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters Marie Doucette, Allie (Rita) DesRoches, Donnie DesRoches and Ann (Hoss) DesRoches, sisters -in-Law Doris and Joyce DesRoches as well many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in-law.
Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Jim (Theresa), Janet (Robbie), Shirley (Ernest), Elmer and Stan and by her son in-law Kevin Bridges,
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Saturday, September 28th, 2024 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Betsy memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation. Visiting hours on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
