Obituary of Jack Farris
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, PEI, on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 of John ‘Jack’ Farris, aged 74 years of Wilmot Valley. Jack was born in Summerside, PEI, to the late William and Jean (MacDonald) Farris.
Beloved husband of Lynn (Pidgeon) Farris and loving father of Sherry (Shawn) O’Pray and Edward ‘Eddy’ (Emily) Farris. Also lovingly remembered by his granddaughter Evelyn.
Survived by his sisters Juanita (John) Morrison, Kathleen (Urban) Gallant, Lynda Farris, Sandra (Marvin) Stavert and Karen Coolen-Masson (Fred). His brothers Ron (Donna) Farris and Paul (Heather) Farris. He will be lovingly missed by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Willam ‘Bill’ Farris and Elmer Farris.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd. Summerside. A private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place in St. Thomas Cemetery, French River. Memorial donations in Jack’s memory can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. https://mscanada.ca/

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
