Obituary of Marjorie Gladys Skerry
The death occurred peacefully at Andrews of Summerside, on January 01, 2025 of Marjorie Gladys (Gamble) Skerry of Summerside and formerly of Lot 16, aged 81 years. Marjorie was born in Lot 16, the daughter of Major and Edith (Cameron) Gamble.
Marjorie leaves behind son George and daughter Carolyn Skerry, Summerside, brother-in-laws Reid Baglole and Irving (Rossana) Stewart, nephew Carman (Lynda) Stewart and extended aunts and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, late husband Eric, sisters Nancy Stewart and Dorothy Baglole and daughter-in-law Katherine Skerry.
Marjorie spent over 66 years devoted to her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Summerside area. Her greatest enjoyment was her ministry and sharing her faith of the Bible’s message of hope for the earth through God’s heavenly Kingdom government. Second to her ministry, was the love of a good card game with close friends. Many friends are also feeling her loss.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home until Wednesday January 15th, where a memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 20 Taylor road, Summerside, at 2:00p.m. with refreshments to follow the service. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Andrews of Summerside and the Summerside Home Care team for the continued sincere care they showed over the last several years. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
