Obituary of Jean McKeown
The death occurred at the Western Hospital on Tuesday, January 2, 2025, of Clela “Jean” McKeown of West Point, PE, aged 85 years.
Jean was born in Bellville, Ontario to her late parents Alexander and Clela.
Beloved wife of the late Ross McKeown and loving mother of Marjorie (Michel) Riendeau, George (Linda), Kathie (Don Bryer) O’Hara, and Dan (Cindy).
Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by her siblings Doris Clarey and her Buddies at the Willow.
Predeceased by her brothers Alex and Scottie (Shirley), her bother-in-law Dick Clarey and her sister-in-law Thelma.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside.

By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
