Obituary of MacIntyre, Gloria Joan
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Prince County Hosptial, on Monday, October 12th, 2020, of Gloria Joan (Sonier) MacIntyre of Summerside, aged 71 years. Gloria was born in Summerside, PEI to the late Ervan & Ruby (Grady) Sonier.
Beloved wife of Edwin "Eddie" MacIntyre. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews and 2 special great nieces, Kate & Hilarie Gaudet.
Survived by her brothers and sisters: Ervan Jr. Sonier, Marlene Gaudet, Linda (Yves) Leonard of ON, Don (Lynn) Sonier. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wilfred MacIntyre (Joan Murray), Eileen LeClair, Barb Gallant (Mel Collicutt) Gail (Ross) McKie and Ann (Bob) Seymour of AB.
Predeceased by her brother Joe Sonier, brother-in-law Dennis Gaudet and sister-in-law Pearl Grant.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held with interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Summerside. In Lieu of Flowers memorial donations can be made directly to a charity of your choice.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
