Obituary of Arsenault, Jean Ernest "Ernie"
The death occurred peacefully Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, September 7th, 2020 of Jean Ernest "Ernie" Arsenault of Summerside, aged 79 years. Born in Egmont-Bay, P.E.I. to the late Felicien and Alma (LeClair) Arsenault.
Beloved husband of Margaret Arsenault (Gallant) and loving father of Timmy and step-children Diane Luce, Gerald (Wendy) Gallant, Robert, (Geraldine) Gallant, Leonie Gallant, Jackie Collette, step-grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Jamie, Jenna, Jacob, Jelica, Jamie, Emma, Lucas and Gabriel, several step-great grandchildren, brother Alyre (Joan) Ontario, sister Louise Marchessault, Kittery, Maine, several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in-law Geraldine, Irene, Louise, Ralph, Ivan and Roger.
Predeceased by his brothers Melvin, Raymond, Edmond and Alfred.
Special thanks to his coffee buddies, Dewey, Pat and Richard for their kindness and time spent with Ernie. To home care you are an amazing group of people, thank you for what you do.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. A private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in Ernie's memory to the East Prince Palliative Home Care or Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
