Obituary of Rayner, Bernice Lillian
The death occurred peacefully at the O'Leary Hospital Palliative Care, surrounded by her loving family on Monday May 9th, 2022 of Bernice Lillian Elizabeth Rayner (Spence) of Blue Shank Rd. Summerside, P.E.I., aged 80 years. Bernice was born in Parrsboro, NS. to the late Audolphus and Margaret Erickson- Spence (Pettigrew).
Beloved wife of the late Malcom Rayner and companion of Lucien "Luke" Duffenais. Loving mother of Laura Rayner (Davis), Jane Davis (Kevin), Arthur Dowe (Myrna) and Aubrey Dowe (Marsha). Also lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren James, Travis (Sara), Kayla (Roger), Jennifer (Steven), Crystal (Ian) and Candice (Joel) and by 16 great grandchildren.
Survived by the following brothers George and Dolphy Spence, sister-in-law Bessie Spence and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers Bernard (Pauline) and William "Billy" (Althea) Spence.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday May, 13th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Bernice's memory to the funeral expense fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
