Obituary of Cummings, Robert Bradley
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 of Robert "Bob" Bradley Cummings of Summerside, aged 89 years. Robert was born in Wallace, NS. to the late Ernest and Hattie (Boone) Cummings.
Beloved husband of the late Anne (nee Langille) Cummings and loving father of Karen Chaisson and Sandy (Claude) Marcotte. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ben, Sarah, Ashley-Ann and Corey, great-grandchildren Libby, Tom, Owen, Aaron and Colby and several nieces and nephews. Bob was the last of 13 children.
Predeceased by his son Wayne partner Gwen MacDonald, brothers Jim and Millard Rector, Bill and Don Cummings, sisters Evelyn Soper, Margaret Johnson, Melita Geldart, Mina Canning, Lois Smith, Dorothy Quigley, Jean Lambke, Lola Lynds and son-in-law Derek Chaisson.
Bob was a military man, (1951~ 1981) and 12 years as a civil servant. Loved military life and made life long friends with each posting.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, October 24th, 2019 for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Bob's memory to Community Connection would be greatly appreciated. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
