Obituary of McKenna, Donald "Donnie" Gordon
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Provincial Palliative Care Unit, Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Monday, September 16th, 2019 of Donald "Donnie" Gordon McKenna of Charlottetown, aged 73 years. Donnie was born in Summerside to the late Jack and Marion (nee McCarville) McKenna.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Gladys Aitken, Ontario, Dianne (Lloyd) MacDonald, Borden, Wayne (Betty) McKenna, Crapaud, Faye (Jim) MacDonald, Borden, John (Phyllis) McKenna, Long Creek, David (Elaine) McKenna, Ontario, Linda Howatt, Victoria, Debbie Murray, Fredericton, NB., Heather McKenna, BC., Robbie McKenna, Middleton, JoAnne (Darrel) Disano, Rose Valley, Maxine (Andy) Paynter, Summerside and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Paul and John Blair, sister Jacqueline Brown, brothers-in-law Clifford Aitken, Gordie Howatt and Dave Murray.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Friday, September 20th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place in the North Tryon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, North Tryon. Memorial donations in Donnie's memory to the Provincial Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday from 12:00 to 2:15 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
