Obituary of Arsenault, Gordon "Gordie" Charles
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 of Gordon "Gordie" Charles Arsenault of Summerside, aged 70 years. Gordie was born in Summerside to his late parents, Clifford and Leona Arsenault.
Survived by his sisters Judith Collicutt of Summerside and Connie Oakes (David Whynacht) of Bridgewater, N.S., his sister-in-law Monica Arsenault of Summerside and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gordie was predeceased by his brothers Gary and Ronnie and his brother-in-law Reggie Collicutt.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, July 26th then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Gordie's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursdasy afternoon, 2 - 4 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
