Obituary of Arsenault, Lorne Franklin
Arsenault: The death occurred peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 of Lorne Franklin Arsenault of Kensington, aged 74 years. Lorne was born in Howlan to his late parents, Leo & Annie Arsenault. Survived by his wife Marjorie (nee MacKay); son Jamie (Shelley); daughters Amanda (Perry) and Shelley (Rick); grandchildren Sydney, Ben, Will, MacKenzie, Emma, Alisha and Shannon; stepson Andy (Diane) MacKay; step-grandchildren Colton and Carly; sisters Leona Gallant, Grace (Edward) Blanchard, Judy (Arnold) Milligan; brothers-in-law Donnie (Joyce) MacKay, George (Pam) MacKay, David MacKay and Willard (Rose) MacKay; sisters-in-law Ruth (Hal) McMullin, Emeline (Randall) LeBlanc, Mary Ellen (Keith) Leeman and Judy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lorne was predeceased by brothers George, Lyman, Clifford, Ivan, Bernard, Milton, Muncey, Allan and Kenny; sisters Joan and Eileen; parents-in-law David and Helen MacKay; brothers-in-law Clarence Gallant, Alban Gallant, Frances Blanchard, Robert MacKay and Gerald MacKay, and sister-in-law Agnes Arsenault. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. There will be a graveside service held Monday July 29th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kensington People's Cemetery (Irishtown Road). A reception will follow at the United Pentecostal Church at 325 Pope Road, Summerside. Donations in Lorne's memory to the Funeral Expense Fund would be greatly appreciated. In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
