Obituary of Dixon, "Kenny" Kenneth Gordon
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit on March 24th, 2022, of Kenneth Gordon Dixon aged 70 years. (Of Summerside formerly of South Melville PEI). Kenny was born to his late parents Mac and Erma (Ings) Dixon. He is survived by his wife Liane (Mugridge) son Matthew (Elisabeth) and grand daughter Audrey. Predeceased by infant son Andrew Kenneth. Survived by sisters Jean Kowalski Janet MacPhail (Roy) Anne Wilson (Stephen) brother Barry (Paula) and brother-in-law Edward Mugridge. Predeceased by sister-in-law Velma Mugridge and brothers-in-law Alfred (Lucy) Mugridge Sterling (Linda) Mugridge and Warren Mugridge. Also predeceased by parents-in-law Nelson and Tillie Mugridge. Kenny is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. An avid Yankees, Maple Leafs and Merle Haggard fan; Dad "Grampie" or just Kenny as many knew him was well known for his never-ending smiles. A proud employee of Curran & Briggs for over 30 years, he enjoyed the simple things in life. Coffee shop banter, dropping into the Summerside Legion, supporting local baseball and hockey teams, blue grass and fiddle music and taking in the beautiful PEI scenery. His proudest accomplishment was becoming and always being a supportive loving father and Grandfather who never ended a conversation without saying "I love you". Dad, Grampie, Kenny: We love you. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
