Obituary of Poirier, Leo Francis
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, February 22nd, 2019 of Leo Francis Poirier of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 86 years. Leo was born in Summerside, P.E.I. to the late Raymond and Flora (nee Gauthier) Poirier.
Beloved husband of Louise (nee Bernard) Poirier and loving father of Glenn (Wendy), Monica Perry, Peter (Barb), Darren (Nicola) and Darlene (Darryl) Donahue. Also lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Alicia (Gary), Chad, William (Kelsie), Nicholas, Lucas, Timothy and Noah and his 4 great grandchildren Liam, Landyn, Kinsley and Tenley.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Audrey Arsenault, Ray (Norma), Allen (Pat), Marjorie (Ron) Johnson, Johanne (Barry) Rowan, sister in-law Joan Perry and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Elaine (Fred) Dale, Evelyn (Gordon) Godfrey, Ruth Perry, brothers Lloyd (Henrietta) Poirier, Ken Perry and brother in-law Ernie Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, February 26th, 2019, then to St. Paul's Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Leo's memory to Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday evening from 5 - 7 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
