Obituary of Gallant, Leonard Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, December 23rd, 2018 of Joseph "Leonard" Gallant of Summerside P.E.I., aged 82 years. Leonard was born in Waterford, P.E.I. to the late Cecil and Veronica (nee Doucette) Gallant and his step-father the late Peter DesRoches.
Beloved husband of the late Dorothy "Jean" (nee MacIsaac) Gallant R.N. and loving father of Karen (Tony) Wessel of Winnipeg, Stephen (Erma), Douglas (Tara) all of Summerside, Andrew (Michele) of Cornwall and Cheryl (Jim) of Summerside, special friend Daisy Stevenson of Summerside. Also remembered as special grampy to 9 grandsons and 4 granddaughters, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Survived by his sisters Audrey Doucette, Alice (Joe T.) Gallant, Sadie Perry, Shirley (Lewis) Riley, Dora (John) Deschamp, Doreen (Clayton) Gallant, Judy Bernard (Gail) sisters-in-law Alice Vautour, Sandra and Theresa Gallant.
Predeceased by his brothers Joe Myers, Carl Gallant, Robert "Bobby" Gallant, Francis "Pinky" Gallant, brothers-in-law Edward Doucette,

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, December 29th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a late date. Memorial donations in Leonard's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening 6 - 9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
