Obituary of Chappell, Lester
The death occurred peacefully at his late residence on Friday, October 5th, 2018 of Lester Chappell of Summerside, P.E.I, aged 85 years. Lester was born in North Granville, P.E.I to the late Ruben and Ruby (nee Gamester) Chappell. Beloved husband of the late Helen ( Harkness) Chappell.
Survived by his special friend and caregiver Marion Carragher, brothers Junior (Thelma) and Clifford (Donna) Chappell, step- children Pam Veinotte and Daryl Jelley, step-grandchildren Taylor and Erin and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Lester Jr. Chappell, brothers Graham and Elmer, special friend Wanda Jelley and sister-in-law Shirley.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, October 9th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Lester's memory to the PEI Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
