Obituary of Poirier, Ivan Joseph
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, June 17th, 2018 of Ivan Joseph Poirier of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 69 years. Ivan was born in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. to the late Elva Poirier.
Beloved husband of the late Daisy (nee Noye) Power and loving father of Darryl (Joanne) Power, Deanna (Stoney Phillips) Power. Also lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Tyler Power, Justyn Power, Katlyn Phillips and Karly Phillips, 4 great grandchildren Zackery Power, Oaklyn Clarke-Power, Amy Ramsay and Michael Ramsay.
Survived by his brother, sisters and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his uncle Ernie Poirier.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche. Memorial donations in Ivan's memory to Canadian Cancer Society or PEI Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
