Obituary of DesRoches, Brian Anthony
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, June 11th, 2018 of Brian Anthony DesRoches of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 62 years. Brian was born in Summerside to the late Anthony and Lucy (nee Pitre) DesRoches.
Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Buchanan) DesRoches and loving father of Jeffery (Shelley) DesRoches and Jeremy DesRoches of Prince Edward Island and Natalie (James) DesRoches of Nova Scotia. Also lovingly remembered by his 6 grandchildren Taylor, Kegan, Kate, Carter, Liam and Charlotte.
Survived by his brother and sisters Lucille (Dave) Boadway of ON., Rita (Ted) Gallant of Clermont, Rena (Bill) Munro of Kensington, Zita (Urvin) Arsenault of Ontario, Linda (Ron) Flahaven of Summerside, Joyce (Mike) Leaman of NS., Brenda (Ray) Shields of French River, John (deceased Yvonne) and Darlene Forster all of ON., Arlene (Doug) Gallant of Miscouche and sister-in-law Elizabeth DesRoches, Summerside.
Predeceased by his brother and sister Ruby and Dennis DesRoches in infancy, mother and father-in-law Bill and Gladys Buchanan and brother-in-law Ron Buchanan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, June 14th, then to the Summerside Church of the Nazarene for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Brian's memory to Prince County Hospital Foundation or Vasculitis Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
