Obituary of Murphy, Mary Maureen
The death occurred peacefully at the Veterans' Memorial Hospital, Halifax, N.S. on Friday, February 9th, 2018 of Mary Maureen Murphy of Halifax, N.S., aged 65 years. Maureen was the daughter of late Elmer and Pearl (nee McNeill) Murphy and lived most of her life in Summerside prior to her recent move to Halifax.
Maureen was the loving mother of Kathryn (Mike Duggan), Halifax, N.S., and will be forever remembered by her 2 grandchildren Loghan and Dexter.
Survived by her brother Michael (Paulette Melanson) of Halifax, N.S., her aunts and uncles Hubert and Christine McNeill, Florence McNeill, Wilma McNeill, and especially Margaret Cooke and Dorothy McNeill, along with many cousins.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, February 16th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Maureen's memory may be made to "The Sunshine Room" QEII Hospital, VG site (Halifax) or the Palliative Care Unit, 7th Floor, VG site (Halifax).

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
