Obituary of MacDonald, Shirlee Ann
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, November 23rd, 2017 of Shirlee Ann (nee MacVicar) MacDonald of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Winnipeg, MB., aged 81 years. Shirlee was born in Tisdale, Sask. to the late Neil and Vera (nee Strachan) MacVicar.
Beloved wife of the late John MacDonald and loving mother of Vera (Dion) Gallant of Abrams -Village, Kelly Ford (Mike Barry), Brent and Brenda (Wayne) Pike all of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren.
Survived by her brother Bert (Cori) MacVicar of Winnipeg, MB. and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Shirlee was predeceased by her sister Donna (Ron) MacIntyre and brother Bud (Linda) MacVicar.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, November 25th, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Shirlee's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
