Obituary of MacNeill, Mary Lou
The death occurred peacefully with family by her side at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, NS. on Monday August 7th, 2017 of Mary Lou MacNeill (nee Hart) of Central Lot 16 and formerly of Miscouche, aged 71 years. Mary Lou was born in Saint John, NB. to the late Walter "Bobby" and Agnes (nee Springer) Hart.
Beloved wife of the late Russell MacNeill and loving mother of Shelley (Jeff) DesRoches, Central Lot 16 and Heather MacNeill, Ottawa, ON. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Taylor, Kegan, Kate Lynn, Carter and Liam.
Survived by her sisters Rosemarie Fitzpatrick, Ottawa, ON., Diane (Edmund) McDermott, Deborah (Michael) McDermott all of Saint John, NB. and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary Lou was predeceased by her brother in-law Ron Fitzpatrick.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday August 10th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche. Memorial donations in Mary Lou's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Miscouche Fire Department would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday from 12 - 1:45 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
