Obituary of Chaisson, Urban Joseph
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, June 16th, 2017 of Urban Joseph Chaisson of Summerside, aged 66 years. Urban was born in St. Louis, P.E.I. to his late parents George and Delia (nee Bernard) Chaisson.
Beloved husband of Linda (nee Perry) and loving father of Daryl (Estelle). Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alison Arsenault, Blake Chaisson and Shenae Bourgeois. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Gerard (Lola), Ralph (Carol), Carmella (Reg), Junior, Elmer (Mary), Freda (Edward) Perry, Cecile (Louis) Donahue, Barbara Chaisson, Gilles, Terry (Pam), Charles (Patricia), Ray (Sue), Wilma (Alec) Chaisson and sisters-in-law Nadine and Donna Chaisson.
Besides his parents, Urban was predeceased by his brothers Roy and Hector, his sister Sandra Chaisson, and his nephew Adam Chaisson.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, June 20th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Urban's memory to the Funeral Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday evening only, 7 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
