Obituary of Smith, Lucy
On May 6, 2017, Lucy Lorena Smith (Coughlin) left her earthly home to join our Lord in her heavenly home. September 27, 1924 Charles and Lorena Coughlin welcomed their first daughter, Lucy Lorena Coughlin in Roxbury, Lot 6, PEI. She grew up in the communities of Roxbury, Coleman and Cascumpeque, PEI. In the early 1950's she spent time living and working in Toronto, ON. She returned home to PEI in 1954 to marry Elvion (Al) Smith where they raised their three children: Wanda, Elvin and Billy. Mom attended Summerside Baptist Church where she grew to love the Lord.
She was predeceased by her husband (Al) in February 1994 and their son Billy in December 1986. Survived by Wanda (Dave) Loewen, Edmonton, AB and Elvin (Esther), St Albert, AB: Four grandchildren who love and will always remember her: Erin (Troy), Julie (Craig), Brittany (Matt), and Nicholas (Kayla): four great grandchildren: Emily, Avery, Katie (Julie) and Zachary (Erin). Sister of Bannie (Freda), Jesse (Diann), Naomi (Virden) Robinson, and Gil (Rose) and sister- in- laws Olive Coughlin and Joan Coughlin and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents and siblings Kenneth, William, Alvin, Everett, Russell; sister-in-laws Jenny Coughlin, and Marjorie Coughlin: nephews Dale MacLure, Alvin Mullett and niece Lisa Lowther.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 9th from 6- 8 pm. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerside Baptist Church. Interment to take place in Summerside People's Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made in Mom's memory to The PEI Kidney Foundation.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
