Obituary of Cornish, Kenneth "Ken"Lea
The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 of Kenneth Lea Cornish of Summerside, aged 67 years. Ken was born in O'leary, P.E.I. to the late Arthur and Elva (nee Caseley) Cornish.
Beloved husband of Beverley "Bev" (nee Caseley) Cornish and loving father of Julie Anne Gray and special friend Winnie Lewis. Also lovingly remembered by his grandsons Matthew and Michael Gray.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Vernon (Pixie) Cornish, Bridgewater, N.S., Ellen (Fred) Cameron, Roy (Anna) Cornish all of Summerside and Fairley (Eric) Phillips, O'Leary.
Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by a son in infancy, nephews Kent Phillips, John Cornish and sister in Law Evelyn Cornish.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, March 10th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 P.M. Interment to take place in Bloomfield United Cemetery, Bloomfield at a later date. Memorial donations in Ken's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
