Obituary of Martin, Thomas Joseph
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE FUNERAL SERVICE FOR TOM MARTIN HAS BEEN CHANGED TO SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH , AT 10:30 A.M.
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday February 7th, 2017 of Thomas "Tom" Joseph Martin of Summerside and formerly of Kensington, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Tom was born in Summerside, P.E.I. to the late Emmanuel and Irene (nee Martell) Martin.
Beloved husband of Loretta (nee MacIsaac) Martin and loving father of Blair (Marcia) Martin, Indian River, P.E.I. Also lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Jill (Ryan) Ross, Heidi Martin (Gregor Chissolm), Brandi Martin and Jonah (Tamara) Martin, 3 great granddaughters Madison, Abigail and Amelia and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his brothers Harold (Shirley) Martin and David (Jean) Martin.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Walter, sisters Mary Belle, Mary May and Ethel.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, February 11th where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Indian River at a later date. Memorial donations in Tom's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. By personal request there will no visiting hours held.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
