Obituary of Doucette, Joseph Augustus "Gus"
The death occurred peacefully with the love of his life by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, January 31st, 2017 of Joseph Augustus "Gus" Doucette of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 80 years. Gus was born in Miscouche to the late Wilfred and Angie (nee DesCoste) Doucette.
Beloved husband of Donna (nee Livingstone) Doucette and loving father of Sharon Doucette, Tracy (David) Doucette, Jackie (Sheldon) Rogers and Cindy Doucette. Also lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Christa, Melissa, Samantha, Aron, Laura, Mitchell and Nicole, his 9 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his sisters Elaine Mousse, Carol Parker, Donna Yantha and his birth family.
Besides his parents, Gus was predeceased by his sister Judy Simpson and many of his birth family.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, February 4th, 2017, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in Gus memory to P.E.I. Humane Society or Cat Action would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening from 6 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
