Obituary of Newport, Roger Lyle
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Saturday May 7th, 2016 of Roger Lyle Newport of Summerside, aged 58 years.
Loving partner of Rose O'Toole and father of Patrick (Pam Bernard) of Airdrie, Alberta. Survived by sisters Julie (Rob) MacDonald of Borden, Colleen Sudsbury of Spring Valley, Debbie (Jack) McGuigan of Montague and brother Grant (Raeanne) of Borden.
Predeceased by his mother Ruby (Bill Murphy) and father Revel as well as his sisters Marilyn MacDonald (Charlie) and Linda Quigley.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Donations in Roger's memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
