Obituary of MacDonald, Mary Chlothilda
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday April 14th, 2016 of Mary Clothilda (nee McIntyre) MacDonald of Andrews Lodge, Summerside, aged 85 years. Mary was born in Glace Bay, NS. to her late parents William and Helen (nee Nearing) McIntyre.
Beloved wife of the late Allan MacDonald and loving mother of Linda (James), New Waterford, Cape Breton, Helen (Pierre), Summerside, Liz, Summerside, Allan (Marilyn) Greenwood, N.S, Barb (Lenny) Wainwright, Alberta and Rose, Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Brittany, Terry, Cherie, Debbie, Jamie Lynn, Stephanie, Glenn, Melissa, Justin, Jennifer, Jesse, Paige, Dena, Carly and Evan; great grandchildren Rebecca, Brooklynn, James, Nora, Manny, Abigail, Desiree, Kendra, Terry, Craig, Mya, Leah, Mason, Madison, Hunter, Nevaeh, Grayson and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by her sisters, Pat, Betty and Eileen, brothers Sunny (Ceclia), Willy (Marie), Michael and Johnny (Brenda).
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Charles, sister Mildred, sons Terry (Denise) and Ricky (Tammy) and grand daughter Shanda.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. By personal request there will be no visitation or funeral service held. The family will hold a private service at a later date. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorial donations in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
