Obituary of DesRoches, Rose Mary
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on March 18th, 2016 of Rose Mary DesRoches (nee Pineau) of Summerside, aged 86 years. Rose was born in Duvar, P.E.I. to her late parents Octave and Lena (nee Gallant) Pineau.
Beloved wife of the late Felix DesRoches and loving mother of Ernie (Lucy), Earl (Donna), Darlene (Alan), all of Summerside and Kevin of Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren Jason (Claire), Ryan (Melissa), Tyler (Christine), Aaron (Elizabeth) and Darren ( Bethany) and her four great grandchildren Logan, Mason, Eveline and Mabel.
Survived by her brothers and sister; Junior (Arnolda) Pineau of St. Thomas, ON, Connie (Phyllis) Pineau of Charlottetown and Aldona (Eugene) Milligan of Foxley River and sister-in-law Madeline Bartoszynski.
Besides her parents and husband, Rose was predeceased by her daughters Elaine (in infancy), Elaine at the young age of sixteen; sisters Bernice Arsenault, Bertha Gallant, Edna Coughlin, Helen Peters, Sylvia MacLean and brothers Alex, Ernest and Albert.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, March 23rd, for a funeral mass at St. Paul's Church, Summerside at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Rose's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. only.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
