Obituary of Laughlin, Reginald Urban
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 of Reginald "Reg" Urban Laughlin of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 76 years. Reg was born in Miscouche to his late parents Reg and Eileen (nee MacNeill) Laughlin.
Beloved husband of the late Joan Claire (MacDonald) Laughlin and loving father of Dawn (Kevin) O'Brien of Miscouche and Chris (Lorri) Laughlin of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Kayla, Jackson, Ben, Landon and Caiden, his great grandchild Rhylyn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Survived by his brothers Bernard (Claire), Francis (Irene) and sister Donna (John) Hogan, brothers and sisters in-law Aubrey (Eloise) , Helen (Paul) Arsenault, Dick (Audrey), Donnie (Nancy) and Grant (Darlene).
Besides his wife and his parents, Reg was predeceased by his brother Eddie, his mother and father in law Ralph and Zeta (Gallant) MacDonald, sisters in-law Connie, Faye Darrach, Barbara Laughlin and Marie MacDonald.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, March 18th, 2016, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Reg's memory to P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening from 6 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
