Obituary of Oliver, Wendy Jane
Wendy passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her husband Larry on January 4th , 2016 at the age of 55 years in the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI. Cherished wife of Larry Oliver for over thirty-one years, Wendy is the beloved daughter of Maureen Hoar, beloved dad Robert Hoar, and step-mother Alida Bayers. Wendy will also be forever missed by her brothers Jeffrey Bayers, Scott Jones and Michael (Debbie) Hoar, as well as her nephews Jacob Bayers and Sam Hoar, niece Sydney Hoar and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Wendell Bayers, her grandparents Laurie and Margaret Anderson, and Hildred and Harry Bayers.
Wendy was born at Twin Oaks Hospital on May 13th , 1960 and will be remembered by many in Musquodoboit Harbour for her love of horses. She had a short but fulfilling career as an Animal Technician specializing in anesthesiology at the University of PEI Veterinary College. Her love for all God's creatures was evident to all who knew her.
Special thanks to Wendy's family physician, Dr. George Carruthers, and the doctors and nurses at Prince County Hospital, especially Dr. Doug Carmody for their excellent care and compassion.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11th at First United Church, Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S. at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations in Wendy's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
