Obituary of MacDonald, Urban Louis
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, December 26th, 2015 of Urban Louis MacDonald of Grand River, P.E.I. , aged 90 years. Urban was born in Grand River to his late parents Louis and Margaret (nee Morrisson) MacDonald.
Survived by his sister Maisie Brady of Boston, U.S.A. and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Urban was predeceased by his brothers Father Justin MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, his sister Theresa (Louis) Schiete, brother-in-law Eugene Brady and nephew Steven Brady.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday December 31st, then to St.Patrick's Church, Grand River for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Urban's memory to St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday 4 - 8 pm.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
