Obituary of Gavin, Mary Madeline
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, December 24th , 2015 of Mary Madeline Gavin (nee Gallant) of Summerside and formerly of the Beaton Road, P.E.I., aged 90 years. Mary was born in Coleman to her late parents, Oneism and Lena Gallant.
Beloved wife of the late Milford "Mac" Gavin and loving mother of Theresa McCormick (Randy) of Summerside, Cindy Hippenstall (Gary) of St. Nicholas and Elmer Champion (Dar) of Moncton, N.B.. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Betty-Ann McCormick, Cory McCormick, Ashley Dubé, Steven Champion, her great-grandchildren Malerie Boudreau, Rebecca Boylan, Freddie McCormick and Sophia Dubé, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sisters Marge Slavin and Elizabeth Gallant.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, December 29th, from where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Mary's memory to the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday evening only, from 6 - 9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
