Obituary of MacKinnon-Thompson, M.B.Colleen
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 of M.B. Colleen MacKinnon-Thompson of Grand River, P.E.I., aged 58 years. Colleen was born in Summerside to her late parents Bernard and Ella (nee Morrison) MacKinnon.
Beloved wife of Errol Thompson and loving stepmother of Calvin Thompson of Toronto, ON. and Corey (Natasha) Thompson of Antigonish, N.S.. Survived by her sisters and brothers: Audrey Hebb of Summerside, Flo Murphy of Miscouche, Geri (David) Hammond of Schurmans Point, Ron (Brenda) MacKinnon of Alexandra, Don (Helen) MacKinnon of Grand River and Bev (Gordie) Poirier of Grand River. Also lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law Garth (Ann) Thompson of New Annan and Marilyn (Keith) Hattie of Kensington.
Besides her parents, Colleen was predeceased by her brother Claude MacKinnon and brothers-in-law Hughie Hebb and Frank Murphy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, September 26th, then to St. Patrick's Church, Grand River for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Colleen's memory to St. Patrick's Church Building Fund or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
