Obituary of Winchester, Gerald Edward
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside P.E.I., on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 of Gerald Edward Winchester of Summerside, aged 82 years. Gerald was born in Summerside to the late Mel and Anna (nee Beaton) Winchester.
He is survived by his sisters Pearl and Ruby (Cedric), sister-in-law Dorothy, great nieces Tanya, Ashley and Allison and many great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Walter (Emma), Ida (Rocky), Lena and Ronnie.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, where a private funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel by invitation. Interment to take place at a later date in the People's Cemetery, Summerside.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
