Obituary of Mitchell, Cecil Lloyd
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday August 10th, 2015 of Cecil Lloyd Mitchell of Summerside and formerly of Musquodoboit, N.S. aged 88 years. Cecil was born in Halifax, NS. to his late parents Edwin and Jessie (nee Higgins) Mitchell.
Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Blois) Mitchell and loving father of Angela (David) Darby, Wendy Coad, Tim Mitchell: step-father to Mark (Joanne) Chatham, Wendy (Robert) Peters, Chris Chatham, Linda (Kent) Kidwell, Stanley (Ethel) Makin and Bruce Makin. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his sisters Grace, Emma, Bertha and Velma.
Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Alice, Margaret, Florence, Ervin, Eva, Jean and Everett.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, August 13th, then to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 148 Evergreen Dr. Truro, NS. for a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Interment to take place in Hillside Cemetery, Musquodoboit, NS. Memorial donations in Cecil's memory to the Alzheimer's Society or the Summerset Manor would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Truro, NS.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
