Obituary of Champion, Dylan Jonathan Avery
The death occurred at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, N.S. on Tuesday, July 14th, 2015 of Dylan Jonathan Avery Champion of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 21 years. Dylan was born in Summerside, to his mother Chastity (Justin) Champion of Kensington and his father, the late Jonathan DesRoches.
Also lovingly remembered by his brother Zackery Champion, his sister Stephanie Rogers and his grandparents Clifford (Nancy) DesRoches of Summerside, Barbara Gaudet of Summerside and Stephen (Heather) Champion of Kensington. Survived by his Aunt Lisa DesRoches and Uncles Ricky and Carl DesRoches and Jason Gaudet.
Besides his father Jonathan, Dylan was predeceased by his grandmother Elizabeth DesRoches.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, July 20th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donation in Dylan's memory to the IWK Children's Hospital, Halifax, N.S. would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
