Obituary of Connolly, Leona
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday May 4th, 2015 of Leona Connolly (nee White) of Summerside, aged 80 years. Leona was born in Bathurst, N.B. to the late Clarence and Mary (nee Imhoff) White.
Beloved wife of Ray Connolly and loving mother of David, Charlottetown, Karen, Summerside and Kevin (Nancy) of Calgary Alberta. Survived by her sister Marjorie White of Bathurst, N.B. brother-in-law Len Nixon, sister-in-law Ruth White and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Leona was predeceased by her sisters Edna (Roger) St.Amour and Carmel (Len) Nixon, brothers Alphie, Aurele and Leon.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday May 8th, then to St. Paul's Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Leona's memory to the P.E.I. Rights for Life Association, the Arthritis Society or the P.E.I. Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
