Obituary of Sullivan, Helen Joan
The death occurred peacefully with family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday April 22nd, 2015 of Helen Joan Sullivan (nee Cullen) of Summerside, aged 93 years. Helen was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. to her late parents Andrew and Ellen (nee McKenna) Cullen.
Beloved wife of the late Guy Norbert Sullivan and loving mother of John, Sussex, N.B., Mike (Jean) Summerside, Joseph (Dianne) St. Stephen, N.B., Ronald Summerside, Norah (David) O'Toole St. John, N.B., Guy (Barbara) Nanaimo, B.C. and Jim (Murielle) Stratford. Also lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday April 24th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Helen's memory to the International Childrens Memorial Place, St. Vincent de Paul Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
