Obituary of Gallant, Doreen Mary

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. of Doreen Mary Gallant (nee McNeill) of Summerside and formerly of Grand River, P.E.I., aged 79 years. Doreen was born in Grand River to her late parents Augustine and Josephine (nee Cameron) McNeill. Beloved wife of Gerald Gallant and loving mother of Theresa Grady (James) of Hamilton, ON., Sharon MacDougall (Jimmy) of Grand River, Janet Ross (Chris) of Summerside, Gerry (Tracy) of Cambridge, ON., Gail Johnston (Keith) of Summerside and Jason (Melissa) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Leonard McNeill (Florence) of Miscouche, Sarah Gallant of Summerside, Lil Gallant (Kenneth) of Summerside, Benny McNeill of Ajax, ON. and sister-in-law Virginia McNeill of Summerside. Besides her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her brothers Walter, Francis "Junior" and Arnold McNeill. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, December 16th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Due to the need at this special time of the year, Doreen's family would like memorial donations in her memory to go to the Summerside Salvation Army Food Bank.
