Obituary of Hardy, Gerald Elvin
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, December 13th , 2014 of Gerald Elvin Hardy of Miscouche and formerly of Elmsdale, P.E.I., aged 86 years. Gerald was born in Brockton, P.E.I. to his late parents Jacob and Rita (nee MacArthur) Hardy.
Beloved husband of the late Roma (nee Thomson) Hardy and loving father of Anne Satten of Thunder Bay, ON., Allan (Sandy) of Sackville, N.B., Donald (Cathy) of Lefroy, ON. and David of New Market, ON. . Also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Erma Hardy (Allan MacAusland) of Mill River, Doris Flamminio (Nick) of Summerside and sister-in-law Agnes Hardy.
Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his brothers Ralph and Murray Hardy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, December 16th , where a funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m.. Interment to take place in Lot 16 United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Gerald's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday afternoon, from 1:30 until the time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
