Obituary of Gauthier, Joseph Adrien "Andy"
The death occurred suddenly on Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 of Joseph "Andy" Adrien Gauthier of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 57 years. Andy was born in Summerside to his late parents Adrien and Yvonne (nee Arsenault) Gauthier.
Beloved husband of Stella (nee Deveau) Gauthier and loving father of Steven (Jessica) of Miscouche and Elizabeth (Colin) DesRoches of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Hayden, Josie, Marcus, Ellie and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Ricky Blanchard, Anne Marie (David) Doiron, Judy (Pat) Gauthier, Dianne (Terry) Gallant and Carol Ann Blanchard.
Besides his parents, Andy was predeceased by his step-father Cyril Blanchard, sister Betty and parents-in-law Joey and Helena Deveau.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, December 13th from where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place at a later date. Donations in Andy's memory to Scales Pond/Dunk River Restoration Project would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
