Obituary of MacLeod , Mary Irene CAF Capt
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, December 5th, 2014 of Irene MacLeod of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 78 years. Irene was born in South Granville, P.E.I. to her late parents John and Lillian (nee Matheson) MacLeod.
Loving sister of Chrissie (Leigh deceased) Simmons, Kensington, Donald (Beryl MacLeod), South Granville, Jean (Roscoe) Pendleton of Kensington and several nieces and nephews.
Capt MacLeod served as a Naval and Airforce Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for twenty-two years, retiring in 1991 to Thundercove, P.E.I.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, December 8th, for a private family memorial service in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in South Granville Cemetery, South Granville. Memorial donations in Irene's memory to Three Oaks breakfast program or the Summerside Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by personal request.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
