Obituary of Gallant, Ralph Arthur
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Smmerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday October 14th, 2014 of Ralph Arthur Gallant of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 73 years. Ralph was born in Fortune Cove, P.E.I. to his late parents Arthur and Helen (nee Arsenault) Gallant.
Beloved husband of Alodie (nee Bernard) Gallant. Survived by his sisters Aldona (Ken) Jollimore of Kensington and Faye (Wayne) Jewell of Riverview, N.B., sisters-in-law Bertha (Willie) Doucette, May (David) Murphy, brother-in-law Eddie Arsenault and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, October 20th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Philippe & St. Jacques Cemetery, Egmont-Bay. Memorial donations in Ralph's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday evening only, 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
